Linseed contains proteins that are easily digestible and contain all amino acids. Many of the essential amino acids cannot be produced by the body itself, and therefore we need to have them supplied through the diet.
Flaxseed is also a rich source of fiber, which is important for our digestive system as it prevents our digestive tract from becoming clogged with mucus, toxins and digestive waste. The fibers ensure a healthy intestinal flora, which consists of beneficial bacteria and yeast cells.
In addition, fibers also help lower the blood's cholesterol content, as they prevent the body from absorbing cholesterol and bile from the intestinal system. The reason why flax seeds are ideal for transporting toxins out of the digestive system is, among other things, the high content of lignans. Lignans are plant nutrients that bind to the fibers in the flaxseed, which, among other things, help fight infections, fungus and bacteria.
Linseed protein contains many important minerals such as potassium, phosphorus, magnesium and calcium.
When you consume flaxseed protein it helps to regulate appetite as it prevents high blood sugar spikes.
At the same time, the organic linseed protein has a relatively high content of antioxidants, which are naturally present in the linseed.
For many vegetarians and vegans, getting enough protein and important vitamins and minerals can be a challenge. Here, organic linseed protein is a good ingredient to have in the kitchen, which is both vegan and gluten-free. Linseed protein can be used as a binding agent in, for example, vegetable mince as a substitute for eggs. Mix 1 tbsp. linseed protein with 4-5 tablespoons of water and you have a so-called "linseed egg" that can be included in vegetable mince and baked goods.
Manufacturing process:
The organic linseeds are cold-pressed in a dark and protected atmosphere so that the oil avoids oxidation. After pressing, the oil is bottled and the dry matter, i.e. flaxseed cakes that remain are then gently processed into flaxseed protein. The linseed protein is filled in light and airtight bags.
Use: Flaxseed protein can also be used in e.g. smoothies, porridge and baked goods to increase the protein content and at the same time ensure that you also get plenty of fibre. Remember to drink plenty of water, as the protein absorbs a lot of water.
Recipe:
Nyborggard's porridge with apple
1 DL. oatmeal (possibly coarse-rolled)
1 small grated apple
2.5-3 dl. water
1 tbsp. Nyborggaard flaxseed protein
A little cinnamon and salt
Topping: Chopped nuts, linseed, dried or fresh fruit and linseed oil.
How to do it: Boil oatmeal, grated apple and water for a few minutes. Then add salt, cinnamon and flaxseed protein. Top with your topping and linseed oil.
