Lactic acid alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA - alpha hydroxy acid) is obtained by fermentation of natural sugars.
Lactic acid is an organic acid and part of the skin's natural moisturizing factor (NMF).
It is used as an exfoliator. Exfoliator in formulations to rejuvenate the appearance of the skin by encouraging the secretion of dead surface skin cells.
The ingredient improves the appearance of handmade soaps.
Use: Dilute before use or add to your personal formulations.
Typical use level is 1-2.5% as exfoliating agent and 0.2-1% as pH regulator.

The ingredient is very acidic and can lead to skin irritation and burns. If this happens, reduce usage. If irritation persists, stop use immediately.

Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product for up to a week after.
Store at temperatures between 5-30 C.
