COCOON organic, hypoallergenic soapberries, also known as soap nuts, are the absolute most natural alternative to conventional chemical-based detergent.
In addition to being a fantastic alternative for the environment, soapberries actually wash clothes more gently, which preserves the structure and colors of the clothes for longer, i.e. the life of the clothes is also extended. And with 250g of soap nuts, you get about 90 washes. Even corn fiber, wool, silk and kapok can be washed with soapberries - So what's not to like!
How do they work: The berries contain saponin, which is a natural surfactant that can effectively dissolve and remove dirt from surfaces.
In addition, you can avoid environmentally harmful fabric softener, as saponin softens the clothes naturally.
TIP! Soap nuts can actually also be used as cleaning, shampoo, shaving foam, hand wash, etc.
Because soapberries are natural, they do not contain enzymes or chemicals, so the berries may have difficulty removing tough stains such as red wine, fruit juice, ketchup, etc. Stains simply need to be treated before washing the clothes in the washing machine with soapberries. You can either use a regular neutral detergent that you rub on the stain, or a natural stain remover block.
Soapberries do not contain bleach or optical whiteners, which brighten and whiten white and light-colored clothes. Therefore, you may experience that, for example, white clothes become a little grayish over time. It is therefore recommended that you use 2 tablespoons of soda crystals in the detergent tray when using soapberries for white clothes.
