biogan dried sea buckthorn originates from the German coast along the Baltic Sea. The berries are harvested by pruning the sea buckthorn bushes and then freezing them, causing the berries to fall from the branches. To produce 1 kg of dried sea buckthorn berries, almost 6 kg of fresh sea buckthorn berries must be used.
Fresh sea buckthorn berries are very acidic, and are therefore not eaten fresh. The dried version, on the other hand, can be used as a flavoring in many ways.
You can use dried sea buckthorn berries as a delicious fresh snack, as muesli on your skyr, yogurt, porridge, oatmeal or as a topping on your salads, and of course also in your baked goods.
