Organic black Nero rice from Biogan comes from Italy. Black rice is still considered an exquisite delicacy.
It has a good firm rice kernel that retains its structure well. It should not appear creamy like classic risotto.
A natural black rice is a bit of a rarity. It has a high fiber content and a beautiful dark color.
Black rice has been known in China for a long time and is called "Emperor's Rice" or "Forbidden Rice", as the harvest was originally saved only for the emperor and his court.
Black Nero rice is cooked under a lid in lightly salted water for 45-50 minutes, the remaining water is sieved off. Cooking time can be reduced by soaking.
Absolutely fine rice with just a little oil and flakes of parmesan.
Can also be used mixed with salad or in other types of rice.
Tip! Also use them boiled, as an alternative to kernels in your homemade baking.
