Preparation:

Ingredients:

They select only the highest quality herbs, teas and botanicals that have been grown with care for our earth. Their farming partners meet strict standards for quality and consistency using sustainable farming methods.

Sourced from all over the world.

All of their teas are blended in Celestial’s hometown of Boulder, Colorado. They source over 100 botanicals from over 35 different countries around the world, with 70% of these ingredients purchased directly from farmers and local communities.

Many of their ingredient suppliers have been part of the Celestial Seasonings family for over 40 years.

Ingredients and Testing:

All incoming raw materials are tested on an ongoing basis as they enter the factory.

Raw materials are thoroughly tested to ensure that all products meet strict industry standards as well as their own “gold standard” for high product quality. Each incoming shipment of ingredients is thoroughly tested. Working with external experts, they continually evaluate and refine their already rigorous testing protocol to address changes in environmental and agricultural practices.

Processing:

Raw materials are processed in-house by their own experienced staff.

By purchasing botanicals whole rather than ground, they are better able to test the quality of the raw material to ensure they meet their high standards of purity and quality. Cutting herbs on site and at the time of packaging ensures freshness and maximizes flavor.

Blends:

Expert blending goes into every batch of tea produced.

Once the ingredients have been ground, they are blended into recipes formulated by Celestial’s experienced product development team.

Each batch of their tea is tested by a Blendmaster, who has over 40 years of experience with Celestial Seasonings to ensure that each batch matches the “gold standard” for that particular recipe.

Sustainable Packaging:

The packaging matches the goodness inside.

They package their teas in natural fiber, pillow-style tea bags that don’t require a string, tag, staple, or individual wrapping. In doing so, the environment is spared more than 1.5 million kilograms of waste from going to landfills each year.

The decorative outer packaging is made from 100% recycled cardboard (including 35% post-consumer waste), which can be recycled again when empty.

Shipping:

Their commitment to social responsibility doesn’t stop when the teas leave the manufacturing facility.
