Bio essential Bergamot oil is extracted from the rind of the tiny citrus fruit of the Citrus Bergamia plant.
The fruits are spherical, smooth, with lemon yellow surface and approximately 6 cm in diameter.
The rind of the fruit contains essential oil which has sweet citrus scent and is greenish-yellow in colour. 200 kgs of the Bergamot fruit are needed for the production of 1 kg Bergamot essential oil.
Bergamot essential oil is very famous in the perfumery and cosmetic sectors; an excellent antiseptic, it is used to treat different infections: flu, cold, throat inflammation.
It leads to good results when used as a component in different blends which aim to remove oil from the skin.
Bergamot essential oil Is also used in the culinary as a flavouring agent for sugar products, jams, marmalades, jelly, etc.
It blends well with salvia, frankincense, mandarin, jasmine, black pepper, cypress, geranium, nutmeg, sandalwood and rosemary oil.

- One of its components Bergapten becomes toxic when exposed to direct sun light.
- Avoid sun exposure up to 30 minutes after external use of the Bergamot oil.
